La Rambla
Plaça de Catalunya to Port Vell
La Rambla is Barcelona's most famous street, a 1.2-km tree-lined promenade that runs from Plaça de Catalunya down to the Christopher Columbus Monument at Port Vell. It separates the Gothic Quarter from El Raval.
Look for the mosaic pavement by Joan Miró near the center. Start at the top and walk downhill for the full effect. Best visited late afternoon when the light filters through the plane trees.
