Casa Batlló
Passeig de Gràcia
Casa Batlló is a building in the center of Barcelona, redesigned by Antoni Gaudí in 1904 and considered one of his masterpieces. It was a remodel of a previously built house, with contributions from Gaudí's assistants Domènec Sugrañes i Gras, Josep Canaleta and Joan Rubió.
Look up at the façade: the shimmering mosaics are made from broken tiles known as trencadís, a signature Gaudí technique. Stand across the street on Passeig de Gràcia for the full view. The effect is best in late afternoon light.
