Templo de Debod

Templo de Debod

Parque de la Montaña · 29 min walk

An ancient Egyptian temple from the early 2nd century BC, originally built 15 km south of Aswan. It was donated to Spain in 1968 in gratitude for helping save Nubian monuments from flooding, then dismantled and rebuilt in Parque de la Montaña in 1970–1972.

Look for the original sandstone blocks and the carvings of gods and pharaohs. Walk around the artificial lake for the classic reflection photo. Best visited at sunset, when the temple glows red and the light hits the water.
