Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza

Part of Madrid's Golden Triangle of Art, the Thyssen-Bornemisza fills gaps left by its neighbours: Italian primitives, Dutch and German schools, and a strong run of English portraits.

Look for the room of German Expressionists—a collection the Prado and Reina Sofía lack. After the galleries, step out to the terrace café for a view over the Paseo del Prado.
